Welcome to "Moving On".

This community was created as a method for those who are looking for support as they move on from a traumatic experience. This may be a singular occurance or something they've endured for years. It may be illness, it may be abuse, it may be the loss of a loved one or it may be a major life change. The experiences all differ vastly from one another, but are all similiar in their healing methods: one day at a time.

It is easy to feel like there is nobody else out there who understands what you are going through. And while everybody here has a different experience from the other, we understand the impact and the difficulty of finding "normal" or "stable". Everything is a little easier with the help of your friends.

You are not required to share anything about what you are moving on from, but if you wish to do so you are of course welcome. Share only what makes you comfortable.

The goal of this community is to make it a little easier for you to help yourself. We aren't dwelling on the past, but we firmly recognise it happened. We are here to celebrate life and the future, moving towards our own personal goals and improving ourselves. You are more than welcome to celebrate milstones here, no matter how big or small. ("It's been 1 month/6 months/one year/5 years since I've had a drink/smoke/cut" or "I managed to eat my entire dinner tonight" or even just "I was able to have a full shower and do my hair today") If it is a big deal to you, no matter how small it may be in the long run, we're here to cheer you on.

If you find something that inspires you, you are more than welcome to share it here as well.
